This primitive hand carved wooden mana pot with ironwork and ring handle is carved out of a single log and the linear carving marks can be seen on the inside.
These wonderful wooden pots are from Southern part of India where they are called Pot Mana or Grain pots and are used for measuring grains and other foods. mostly used by the traveling merchant as a measure.
This one probably dates from the mid 19th century and has beautiful rustic charm. The pot is skillfully crafted in wood and ironwork. There is an iron ring attached for hanging the pot when not being used.
Today these pots look stunning on display.
